Curriculum Development
Sex Trafficking E-Learning Curriculum
for Forensic Nurses
Working with the Ontario Network of Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centres (SA/DVTCs) and an advisory group of individuals with professional and/or lived expertise in sex trafficking, we developed, Providing Care to Sex Trafficked Adolescents and Adults: An e-Learning Curriculum for Forensic Nurses. Following implementation, the curriculum was evaluated; the findings demonstrated the effectiveness of the curriculum in increasing their competence to provide appropriate care to persons sex trafficked. The curriculum has become mandatory training for all Forensic Nurses at Ontario’s 37 hospital-based SA/DVTCs.
