Beyond the Immediate Crisis: Chronic Health Conditions in Survivors of Sex Trafficking

While the acute harms of sex trafficking are increasingly recognized, the enduring physical health consequences often remain overlooked. This session explores the chronic illnesses commonly experienced by survivors, the biological effects of prolonged trauma, barriers to diagnosis and treatment, and evidence-informed approaches to comprehensive care. Participants will gain practical strategies to identify chronic health needs and provide coordinated, trauma and violence informed interventions across healthcare and social service settings.
